On Sunday 27th November, the HF teams of Euro Media France set off at 8.55am from the Old Port to run in the 21st Marathon of La Rochelle.
Alongside them were 5,500 athletes, including a large number of amateurs, who were there to brave the wind and rain and run 42.195 kilometres!
To meet the challenge, France 3 Poitou-Charentes had provided an exceptional broadcast quality and had done all it could to share the event with its viewers.
To this end, EMF deployed a range of technical means including a BN2 aircraft, HFR 41, three film motorcycles, a sound motorcycle and an additional audio gear for the journalist Fabrice Bidault who put on running shorts to participate in the Marathon.
This time around Florian Ringuedé and the Marathon runner Hervé Bouffaux were not in the thick of the athletic crowd, but provided live commentary for the event.
The marathon was won by the Kenyan John Komen who smashed the previous record held by the Ethiopian Hail Haja by 2 minutes 31 seconds.
The new defending record is now 2 hours and 07 minutes
